AMISURG is a Gambian led and run foundation made up of surgical healthcare providers who are on a mission to give back to the society. The foundation was created because of the ever increasing surgical waiting list across the country, most of whom are in the provinces. The foundation helps by recruiting patients and performing various surgeries in different provincial hospitals. Surgeons, anesthetists and preoperative nurses who are members of the foundation are mobilized to carry out services during the camp. The last camp was in Soma District Hospital.
